What a great season. Unfortunately it ended the same way it did in 2008. A loss to Goddard in the Regional Championship game cost us a trip to state. We will miss our six seniors(Megan, Ashley, Sofie, Peggy, Christina, and Erika!). A couple of items I would like to update you on below:
1. Banquet - The banquet will take place at my house in the form of a bar-b-que. It will either be June 13th or 14th...not 100% sure yet. It is here where we will present awards and certificates and eat with the players one last time. It is only a player bar-b-que. I don't think I have enough space for 45 athletes and then more(sorry!).
2. Uniforms - For the most part, all uniforms are in. I was thrilled that they were turned in in such a timely fashion.
3. All City Awards:
Offense - 1st Team: Selby Polley
Offense - 2nd Team: Allison Totty
Honorable Mention: Lamya Scott and Kinzie McCarthy
Defense - 1st Team: Rebekah Ramstack
Honorable Mention: Sarah Mohesky and Megan Kassick
Goalie - Honorable Mention: Ashley Simon
Congratulations Ladies!
4. Thank you to John Loomis for his time as C-Team coach. He is stepping down to pursue his true passion - coaching golf. He will be the new Head Coach for both the men and women. Good luck three-fifths!
5. Thank you to all who helped with lunches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is awesome for the kids and for me too! A personal thank you to Debbie for taking care of all the concession issues and being a wonderful representative for our program with the booster club!
6. Pick up games and weights will be part of our summer conditioning program. We will keep the girls posted on when these will begin! We hope to see them all in the weight room!
Have a great summer!

Thoughts - May 6, 2009
This week(tomorrow) we approach our 14th game of the season. Dodge City comes to town for a big set of games(JV and Varsity). Next week, we finish with West(Senior Night) and then the season finale with Bishop Carroll at Carroll. It has been a long journey and hopefully longer still as we go into the playoffs. I sometimes find myself in a weird situation. I came to Heights almost two years ago with the hopes of turning the program around. We have made unbelievable strides and each year have accomplished different things. I find my own competitive desires so strong that I stress about things that are out of my control. I wish I wouldn't do that, but those of you who know me personally, know that that is just part of my personality. I look forward to what these ladies are going to accomplish in the next month and hope that I can control my own competitive nature.
